An Open Letter to Employers of Property Managers...

Dear Employers of Property Managers,

I started out in Property Recruitment in 2002, therefore, I’ve spent over 22 years at the forefront of the property recruitment industry across London and the UK. Throughout this time, one of the toughest roles to fill has consistently been Residential Property Management. Clients frequently struggle to atract and retain property managers, and I suspect this is due to a variety of reasons.

Let’s be frank: property management is often a thankless task. Professionals in this field find themselves dealing with difficult situations daily, receiving constant complaints, and being “on call”. They handle other people's problems and navigate daily interactions with contractors, many of whom can be unreliable!

But the principal issue in my opinion, is the salaries that many companies are still offering!!

£33,000 is not going to attract top talent in property management today! Expecting people to come into Central London five days a week for a minimum of 40 hours while offering compensation that’s less than what your cleaner earns per day is simply unrealistic. (see calculation below)

Pay these hardworking, committed, resourceful, and diligent people what they deserve, and watch the difference it makes. With proper compensation, you’ll foster loyalty, motivation, and determination among your team, resulting in a much happier experience for you, your landlords, your tenants, and you’ll recruit far less too!
