Interview feedback...it is a must.

Barry Collins • Jan 30, 2024

OPEN LETTER

Dear Employers,

I must address the issue of candidate feedback post-interview, as it stands, a lot of you are not good enough! Simply stating that a candidate is not suitable without providing constructive feedback is unfair and wrong.

Good candidates invest considerable time and effort in interview preparation!

While your decision to deem them unfit for your requirements is well within your rights, it is essential that you acknowledge their commitment with considered and constructive feedback.

Many candidates sacrifice personal time, utilising their holiday allowance or after-work hours for interviews and often incurring expenses to attend in-person meetings! Recognising their dedication and investment by offering constructive feedback is not only respectful but also promotes a positive candidate experience of your business.

In 2024, please commit to a standard of professionalism that values and respects the time, effort, and commitment exhibited by candidates throughout the interview process.

Thank you,

Barry Collins
